The much anticipated girls showdown at the Wichita Southeast Invitational did not disappoint. Avery Clifton and Kaelyn Balch raised the bar for Kansas to a whole new level, producing the #1 and 2 4k times in the nation. Aaron Pope and the Washburn Rural's boys barely held off Campus, and the Bishop Carroll girls proved they may be the best in the state.
Avery Clifton is the star cross country returner in 2009 after burning up the track with performances that rank her 9th All-Time at 3200m (10:40.09), and 19th All-Time at 1600m (5:02.04) in Kansas.
