Most would think 3 medals as a Freshman and 4 more as a Sophomore would be a pretty good high school track career, But for Jordyn Harmon of Emporia its more than that...
After finishing 9th at the 2012 State Cross Country Championships, RIley showed up for his first state track meet and preceded to go out and finish 2nd in the 3200m and 6th in the mile. All while being a freshman for Winfield High School, quite impressive for a freshman considering that most of these races are dominated by older High School boys. Riley would not be intimidated all he did was come out determined for his sophomore season and finish state runner up to jis team mate Josh Hanna at the 2013 State Cross Country Championships. What will RIley do for an encore this spring at the state track meet.
One of the top Juniors in the state hails from a 2A high school. Sarah Hines, from West Elk HS in SE Kansas, has drown the attention from several Division 1 schools after winning the Class 2A 100m Hurdle title and finishing 2nd in the Triple Jump as a sophopmore.
Nobody knew alot about Joe Reagan outside of Topeka before the outdoor season of 2012, and when this freshman burst onto the seen he let everyone know he was here and here for the next four years. Joe burst onto the state and national stage as a freshman as he won the 100m, 200m as a freshman his time of 10.45 was the top time in the nation for a freshman. So what did Joe did for an encore as a sophomore he comes back and wins both again and helps some team mates who might not of won nedals to get silver in the 4x1 and 4x4 relays. So now we all are all in anticpation to what Joe is gunna show us his Jr. year.
Alexa was the 2013 Kansas Gatorade Female athlete of the year. She has recently chosen the University of Texas as the school of her choice, after taking visits to Oregon, UCLA, Virginia, KU and Texas. Alexa is multiple state champion here in Kansas and has competed on the US World Jr National team.
