Ranking the Records Countdown - #6

Boys #6
Jerel Morrow, Emporia, Long Jump 25'8.5" (2012)
IAAF Score: 1,103 points

If the event involved the word "jump," Morrow did it at did it well.  He also boasted high school PRs of 6'4" in the high jump and 46'1" in the triple jump.

But none were as epic as his 25'8.5" long jump.

Morrow won three state long jump titles, one of only four Kansas athletes to ever accomplish the feat.

Perhaps the most incredible thing is that track was Morrow's "secondary" sport.

You can add Jerel Morrow to Reggie Jones as another Kansas track standout who used his athletic skills on the gridiron.  Morrow was a Shrine Bowl selection for his play at wide receiver and cornerback and was ranked by Rivals as the top football player in Kansas his senior year.

Morrow went to Oklahoma State to play football as well as long jump for the Cowboys.  At Oklahoma State, he was teammates with fellow track/football dual sporter Tyreek "Cheetah" Hill, (Coffee) wide receiver for the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Playing safety, he recorded 55 tackles and an interception.  He also competed in four Big 12 track and field championships.
