We Salute Isaiah Armstrong, Holcomb High School

Name: Isaiah Armstrong

School: Holcomb High School

Q: What does your training look like right now given the current situation?

A: Since track and everything is cancelled I'm having to just run on my own and come up with some of my own workouts.

Q: What are you doing to stay busy other than run right now?

A: Spending time with my family and just staying home as much as possible.

Q: What was your most memorable race/moment?

A:  My most memorable moment was re-breaking my 400m record last year at the league meet.

Q: What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?

A: Too many to count.

Q: Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

A: My biggest competition was Jordan Schippers. He was a year older than me so I always looked up to him and he was at almost every meet I was at. We pushed each other in every single race and it he was great competition every meet.

Q: What was your greatest accomplishment?

A: Winning state in the 4x1 my sophomore year.

Q: If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

A: I wouldn't change anything about it. I loved everything about it and I'm going to miss it.

Q: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

A: Last year I tore my hamstring at the regional track meet so I didn't get to compete at state. Working all summer to heal my hamstring was tough and I was really looking forward to coming back this season 100 percent healthy.

Q: What will you miss the most?

A: Spending time with my team and coaches.

Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes?

A: Don't take any time spent on the track for granted. Before you know it, it's over.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

A: I'll miss every one of my teammates and coaches and I just want to thank them.

Q: Favorite Meal?

A: Any type of salad.

Q: If you could be any animal what would you choose? and why?
