POLL: Kansas Girls XC Runner of the Week (Oct. 7-Oct. 12)


Another solid week of racing is in the books with several impressive performances across the state taking place in the first full week of October. We are ready to vote on who was the top performer of this past Week 6!


Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Kansas. The winner will be crowned the Kansas Girls Runner of the Week for Week Six

Congratulations to Prairie View's Bree Allen on winning the Week 5 poll! Allen won the Central Heights Invite in a season best 18:50.71. After a slower start to the season, the two-time 3A track champion is now trending closer to her 18:44.30 personal best from last fall after running impressive 5:01.06 and 10:50.17 marks this spring. She will move to the finals during State week where he will face off with the season's other winners as we determine who had the performance of the year.

Emily Hein - Wichita Trinity Academy - The reigning 3A champion pulled in the win at her home meet, running 18:09.71. She is a week removed from an impressive 18:00.30 personal best at the Rim Rock Classic.

Kelsie Kudzia - Leavenworth - The Leavenworth sophomore won the Coaches Classic Invitational on Thursday, posting her first career sub-19:00 performance of her career in 18:56.60. 

Corbin Starkweather - Buhler - Starkweather dropped a massive amount of time en route to the win at the Sterling Invitational on Thursday. Her 19:09.00 personal best was her first mark under 20:00 of her career.

Cayman Barnes - Free State - Barnes was the winner at the Billy Mills Classic on Saturday, running a 19:25.90 personal best, her first sub-20:00 mark of the season.
