Senior Jaybe Shufelberger out of Washburn Rural really made strides this cross country season and set the scene for the girls' side of Kansas cross country. She completed an undefeated regular season against some pretty strong fields. Shufelberger even came away with the win at the Rim Rock Gold Division race(video above), a race featuring some of the fiercest competitors in the multi-state area. The senior would go on to win the Centennial League title, win her 6A regional, and claim a runner-up position in the state 6A race. Shufelberger then ran at NXR Heartland and was the only Kansan this year to qualify for and compete at Nike Cross Nationals.
