State Weekend is here! After an eventful weekend of Regional races, we are ready to crown 12 State Champions across the 6 classes. But first, it's time to vote for which boy you think had the best performance of the 2024 season.
All year long, you have been voting on who had the best performance each week. Now that we are at the end of the season, we have collected the winners from each poll and pushed them into one, final poll to determine who had the top performance of the season.
This week, polling starts on Monday, Oct. 28th at 8 a.m. and ends on Friday at 12 p.m.
Beckman got his season started with a win at theGreg Wilson Classicin a new personal best of 15:42.20, 0.1 seconds off last year's personal best at NXR Heartland.
Chavez also had a major improvement at the Rim Rock Classic, dropping 47 seconds off his previous fastest time in Lawrence while running 15:41.10 for 5th in the Gold division on Saturday.
Hammond had a monster breakout race at his home invitational, shattering the personal best which earned him second in 2A last season, running a new school record 15:38.51.
Lindstrom picked up the win at theSterling Invitationalon Thursday, running a massive new personal best of 15:54.70. He skipped from the 17s to the 15s in what could be a major breakout race for the junior.
Niederee is usually Mt. Carmel's No. 3 man and is a major key to their success in the postseason. He picked up a big personal best and was their second runner across the line at theGreater Wichita Athletic League.
