Through all the hype and hoopla and the throngs of cheers, Cailie Logue, Molly Born and Emily Venters just keep on chuggin'.
The results will show that Logue, the senior standout from Girard who is headed to Iowa State University next fall, won the 2017 Kansas Relays 3200 meters with a record-smashing run of 10:09.97. She edged Shawnee Mission Northwest's Born, who led from the start and until 50 meters remained before settling for second place in 10:10.64.
Lawrence Free State's Venters ran with the duo for much of the race and finished third in 10:16.61. All three runners smoked the previous Kansas Relays record of 10:25.42 set in 2008 by Emily Sisson, who went on to become a three-time NCAA Division I champion and 11 time All American at Providence College.
