Wichita Trinity Academy graduate Clay Shively will soon take off to Northern Arizona University for college, but he is still collecting accolades for his 2024 track and field season.
Today, Shively was announced as Gatorade's Kansas boys track and field Player of the Year.
After a magical cross country and indoor track season, he was able to complete back-to-back Kansas state title in both the 800m and the 1,600m events. The accomplishments also came with new personal bests in the events as by season's end, Shively ended with 1:50.06 and 4:00.02 performances.
In addition to athletics, Shively maintained his academics as well. He graduated with a 3.6 grade point average.
The Trinity Academy grad also displayed exemplary character. He played guitar and sang on the worship team at church and volunteered to be a weekly service leader to serve middle school youth.
