Dylan Brenneman of Spring Hill made a huge leap to the top of the Kansas cross country rankings last week when he ran 15:26 for third place at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin. His time is 39 seconds faster than any other 5K run by a Kansas athlete this Fall. I had a chance to ask Brenneman a few questions earlier this week.

MileSplit KS: Congratulations on a great race in Joplin. What was your race plan going into that meet? Were you surprised that you were able to run such a fast time?

 

Dylan Brenneman: Thank you! My race plan going into the Stampede was to just put myself in the right position. I knew I was ready to run fast, I just didn't know exactly what kind of shape I was in. I definitely didn't have a perfect race, but I learned from it and that's what matters most.
