Get to Know the MileSplit Database

The MileSplit database is one of the best features about Kansas MileSplit.  Here is a quick how-to for all the features the database can do.

First, to access to database click "Stats" on the top yellow bar.

From there you have access to most of the features of the database. First off, check out the Cross Country Individual Rankings.

From the Homepage of the database you can see all the events run this year that are in our database.  The numbers to the right of the event indicate how many individual results from each event are in the database.  As you can see, Angel Vasquez's 15:34 is the fastest of the 4,037 5000's in the Kansas MileSplit database so far this season.  Click on the event to access the full rankings.

From the rankings, you can easily sort them by league, regional, class or grade.  League, regional and class are all sorted by the drop-down League menu found on the top right.

By clicking on one of the athlete's names you are brought to their athlete page that shows all of their performances throughout the year as well as their career.  It also shows Personal Bests, photos they have been tagged in and much more.  By claiming your profile you can add a picture as well as information about yourself that might be beneficial to your recruiting as many college coaches check MileSplit for recruiting.

Going back to the Stats homepage you can access the Team Rankings.

The team rankings takes the fastest five individuals from the year and scores the whole state.  These rankings are also easily sorted by league, regional and class from clicking "Show Advanced Parameters" and then the drop-down League menu.

Another feature of the Database is Virtual Meets.  To access these either go back to the Stats homescreen or find a meet on the calander.  From a meet page, find the "Create a Virtual Meet".

Virtual Meets work the same as team rankings, running all the teams in the list in a virtual meet based off of everyone on the list of teams fastest times from the year.  You can see who would place where, as well as team scores at the bottom of the individual results.

You can add or remove teams to the right of the individual results.

A custom Virtual meet can be created by going back to the Stats homepage

This is just a quick overview of the MileSplit Database.  Check it out for yourself from the Stats homepage!  If you have any questions about the Database or the site, email us at deverett@milesplit.com.
