The calendar turning to May means the State Series is getting closer and closer. Conference championships take place in the next few weeks, so let's see who had the performance of the week for this last week of April.

Shout out to last week's winner: Topeka Hayden's Jensen SchrickelSchrickel had the top 400m time of the week, posting a 48.30 to win the Leitel Legacy Invite. He leads 4A in the event by half a second and will be a part of the end-of-season poll to determine who had the performance of the year!

Week 4: Max Larson - Shawnee Mission South

Noah Schowengerdt - Lenexa St. James Academy - Schowengerdt dropped a massive 800 meter personal best at the Saints + Mustangs Invitational on Friday, hitting 1:53.67 for the win. He now leads Kansas as the only one under 1:54 so far.

Tyler Holmes - Bishop Ward - Holmes had the top long jump mark of the week with his 23-5 clearance at the De Soto Invitational. This was his second time hitting 23-5 this year and the 2024 3A runner-up is just an inch off his lifetime best.

Simba Mundava - Olathe West - Mundava posted the 6A state-leading triple jump mark at Friday's Gardner-Edgerton Invitational. He jumped a personal best 47-6.75 for the win.

Jahmari Clifton - Olathe South - Clifton was the only Kansan over 6-9 with his 6-11.25 clearance leading the State last week. He won the Saints + Mustangs Invitational and his nearly 3-inch personal best adds to him a close group of boys battling for 6A supremacy.

Jackson Daniel - Kapaun Mt. Carmel - Daniel launched a new personal best in the Javelin of 196-8. He now leads 5A by nearly 8 feet.
