Another big week of performances is in the books in Kansas as teams across the state looked to pad their Kansas Relays entries, take on the illustrious Shocker Pre-State Challenge, or take advantage of much better weather than last week.

Shout out to last week's poll winner: Lakin's Aryn Michaelis! Michaelis earned new personal bests in the 100m hurdles and triple jump en route to two of her three victories at the Ulysses Max Heibert Invitational last week. She ran 15.67, the fourth best time in Class 3, and cleared 37-2.25, the top triple jump mark in Class 3. She also won the high jump with a height of 5-0, but cleared 5-7 in 2024, and will be on our end-of-season Athlete of the Year poll.

Madelyn Wallace - Andover - Wallace won the 800 and 3200 at the Shocker Pre-State Challenge, earning personal bests in both events en route. She now has 2:21.39 and 10:51.48 personal bests to her name, with the latter mark being ranked fourth in the entire state so far.

Avani Hocker-Singh - Olathe North - Hocker-Singh picked up a big personal best in 300 meter hurdles at the Mike Wallace Olathe Invitational. Her time of 43.87 is the only performance in the state so far under 45 seconds and has the 2024 6A runner-up in the driver's seat already.

Tatum Seyfert - Beloit - Seyfert had the top shot put mark of the weekend, throwing 42-8 at the Concordia Invitational. She won the shot put, as well as the discus with a throw of 133-9. The shot put mark is tops in the entire state while the discus mark is second in 3A, fourth overall.

Reece Franklin - Frontenac - The Frontenac freshman Reece Franklin had a massive week, jumping 5-6 at the Frontenac Invitational on Tuesday and then 5-7 at the Paola Invitational on Thursday. Franklin also dipped under 50 seconds in the 300 meter hurdles in her debut there (49.90) and hit 15-4 in her long jump debut. The high jump mark is tops in the entire state so far this season.

Jesse Hoover - Washington County - Hoover had a big day at the Falcon Relays, specifically in the javelin throw. She cleared 150 feet for the first time in her career, launching a US No. 5 mark of 151-4.
