POLL: 2024 Kansas Girls XC Performance of the Year

State Weekend is here! After an eventful weekend of Regional races, we are ready to crown 12 State Champions across the 6 classes. But first, it's time to vote for which girl you think had the best performance of the 2024 season.

All year long, you have been voting on who had the best performance each week. Now that we are at the end of the season, we have collected the winners from each poll and pushed them into one, final poll to determine who had the top performance of the season.

This week, polling starts on Monday, Oct. 28th at 8 a.m. and ends on Friday at 12 p.m.

Here are the nominees!

Charlotte Hardy - Shawnee Mission East

After finishing 15th in 6A last season, Charlotte Hardy showed she's ready to climb even higher this year with an 18:39.10 personal best. She finished fourth at the Greg Wilson Classic, sandwiched between members of a strong Rogers (AR) squad.

Ryin Miller - Topeka Seaman

Her 16:32.32 solo effort at the Joe Schrag Invitational in Week 2 was a State record, taking down Cailie Logue's 16:45.75 from 2016. As we head into the season finale this weekend, Miller still sits at US No. 5 on the season.

Payton Fink - Washburn Rural

Fink finished 2nd at the Shufelberger Top City Classic on Saturday behind national star Ryin Miller. Her 18:16.18 was her third mark under 18:20 through 3 weeks.

Ella Ash - Shawnee Mission East

Ash was the top Kansan at the Chile Pepper XC Festival in Week 4, running the race in a new personal best of 18:52.30 and finishing 31st in the fastest El Caliente heat.

Bree Allen - Prairie View

Allen won the Central Heights Invite in Week 5 in a season best 18:50.71. After a slower start to the season, the two-time 3A track champion is now trending closer to her 18:44.30 personal best from last fall after running impressive 5:01.06 and 10:50.17 marks this spring.

Cayman Barnes - Lawrence Free State

Barnes was the winner at the Billy Mills Classic in Week 6, running a 19:25.90 personal best, her first sub-20:00 mark of the season.

Rylee Ismert - Washburn Rural

Ismert, Wasburn's typical No. 2 runner, picked up the first win of her career at the Centennial League in Week 7. She blazed a new personal best of 18:02.90, 37 seconds better than her previous best from last year.
