Another solid week of racing is in the books with several impressive performances across the state taking place in the first full week of October. We are ready to vote on who was the top performer of this past Week 6!
Below are the top boys performances from the past week around Kansas. The winner will be crowned the Kansas Boys Runner of the Week for Week Six.
Congratulations to Central Heights' Cody Hammond on winning our Week 5 Poll! Hammond had a monster breakout race at his home invitational, shattering the personal best which earned him second in 2A last season, running a new school record 15:38.51. He will move to the finals during State week where he will face off with the season's other winners as we determine who had the performance of the year.

Hayden Nemechek - Garden City - Nemechek was the fastest on a fast day at the Salina Invitational, running a new personal best 15:33.47 and finishing ahead of several boys in the 15s.
Jacob Lindstrom - Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic - Lindstrom picked up the win at the Sterling Invitational on Thursday, running a massive new personal best of 15:54.70. He skipped from the 17s to the 15s in what could be a major breakout race for the junior.
Joey DeRouchie - Kansas City East Christian Academy - DeRouchie's impressive freshman campaign continued on Saturday with a victory in Missouri at the Battle of Lexington Invitational. His new personal best of 16:02.69 is second among Kansan 9th graders, behind only Jack Sauer.
Drew Elliott - Chapman - Elliott picked up two wins this week - the Ellsworth Invitational on Tuesday and the El Dorado Invitational on Saturday. The 16:08.18 mark he posted on Saturday is only 13 seconds off his personal best from the Olathe Twilight.
