Aarika Lister out of Leavenworth went undefeated in the 100m all season against very tough competition and set a new state record. 60.11% (1,195 votes) Washburn Rural's Jaybe Shufelberger was the only Kansan to qualify for Nike Cross Nationals, finishing up an undefeated regular season (including a win in the Rim Rock Gold race) and a runner-up state finish. 32.95% (655 votes) The St.James 4x800m squad won the state title and broke the all-class state record, with runner-up Mill Valley breaking the 16-year record as well. 2.87% (57 votes) Sterling freshman Tyus Wilson wins the state title and was ranked #1 freshman in the nation for high jump, clearing 7-0. 0.96% (19 votes) Shawnee Heights' Michael Hoffer added three more state titles to his impressive record, winning the 5A long jump, triple jump, and high jump. Hoffer helped his 4x400m to a state title and was ranked in the top rankings nationally in two of the events for the season. 0.96% (19 votes) Now a senior, Wellsville's Paige Mcdaniel proves that she is a very universal runner, following up her state 400m and 800m titles and 200m medal in 2017 and in 2018 won the 800m and 1600m, and was part of Wellsville's medalling 4x800m and 4x400m.
