Girls XC 2015 Preview
TEAMS Once again, the defending champions, in
this case Southeast of Saline, are the pre-season favorite. They placed four runners in the top-25 at
state last year, including two medalists, and graduated no one from the top
seven, in fact, five of the seven were underclassmen last year. Last year’s second and third place finishers Hiawatha
and Douglass both took a substantial hit due to graduation, but last year’s
fourth place team, Scott Community, returns five of six runners, three of whom
were freshmen last year, and their team has a chance to move up from last
year. Norton Community finished sixth
last year and graduated their top runner at state, but they return all other
runners, so if one of their top runners who did not run at the state meet last
year is out this year, they could contend for a top finish. Now, I mentioned Hiawatha as taking a
