Salute To Seniors: Ka'ven Berry - Palatka High School

The 2014-2015 school year has provided some great highlights in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. In the coming weeks many of our seniors will head out to start their college careers both athletically and academically. We wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature and say thank you for your support over the years.

What was your most memorable race/moment?

My most memorable moment was winning the 400m dash at regionals my last two years.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

The biggest competition was the clock.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

When I made it to state my first year as a sophomore in the 400m.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I wish I would have won state.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacle was overcoming an injury.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss my track family the most.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

To give it all you have, there's no reason to hold back.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

A big influence. Without him I don't think I could've worked as hard as I have the past four years of high school track.

What are your college plans?

I plan to go to Allen Community College in Kansas.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

God for giving me this athletic ability, my parents, for encouraging me, my track family for competing with me, and my coach for believing in me and helping me through the way.
