5th Annual BOB SCHMOEKEL CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

CROSS COUNTRY MEET -- SATURDAY, October 1, 2022

Welcome to the Junction City High School

cross-country invitational meet.Our

home course is located at the scenic Milford State Park.We appreciate the generosity of the Kansas

Department of Wildlife and Parks in allowing us to have our course at the state

park.

Location:Milford State Park - Located approximately 6

miles
northwest of Junction City.Follow the signs inside the state park to the course. (direction included in packet)

Packet Pick-up:

Packets may be picked up at the finish line.Starting boxes and wave numbers will be indicated on the packet.

line area (by the tent).

Entries:Coaches, please note that we are offering a C

race for your athletes that will struggle to complete a 5K race within a 30-minute

window
.Your proper entries will

help us stick to the timetable for race start times.

Please use.MileSplit KS; for

your entries.

They are due by 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27th.No substitutions will be allowed on race day.Please email our timer Pat Melgares melgares@LetsGoRun.com if

Awards:Medals will be awarded to the top 20 finishers

in both varsity races, the top 15 placers in both JV races.Top 5 placers for boys and girls in the C

race.There will be no awards

ceremony.Awards will be given to

coaches at the conclusion of the meet.

Course

Maps:
All Varsity

and JV races will run the 5K course this year.We will run a combined C race that will accommodate a shorter distance

(4K).Runners should stay on the mowed

path and follow the signs.We will have

course monitors stationed throughout the course.If a runner is caught cutting, his or her

entire team could be disqualified.

Team

Tent Area:
Please place tents a

good distance from the tents of other teams.

Restrooms:Portable restrooms will be located at the

meet site.

Bibs,

Chips and Scoring:
This

year we will be using shoe chips and bibs to manage meet timing.Please advise your athletes to wear the shoe

chip on her/his shoe of choice.Teams

will be responsible to collect chips and return to the meet timer at the

conclusion of the meeting.Failure

to return chips will result in a $5 replacement fee per chip.Results packets will be available at the

conclusion of the meet.Shoe chips need

to be returned before receiving your award packet.

Entry

Fee:
$60 per

team / $120 for both boys and girls.

Parking:Limited parking is available at the course site.There will be a $5 charge per car.When a car arrives at the gate to the CC

course the car will be given a parking pass.

Concessions:There will not be a concession stand on site

for the race this year.

Covid:Outside - no masks required.
