This Week's Nominees:
Klyn Curtis, St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Kansas): Threw a state-leading 63-0.5 in the shot put, winning at the BV West ELITE Meet in a field of 21 competitors. Also placed third in the discus with a mark of 171-4 at the Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational.
Christian Hartman-Babb, Washburn Rural High School (Kansas): Won the 100 meters in 10.43 at the BV West ELITE Meet, making him the top junior in Kansas in the event. Also took first in the 200 meters with a 22.68 clocking at the same meet, ranking him ninth among juniors statewide.
Grady Richlin, St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Kansas): Captured the triple jump at the BV West ELITE Meet with a winning leap of 49-4.5, establishing him as the state's top-ranked junior in the event. Added an eighth-place finish in the long jump at 21-10.
Jason McNicoll, Blue Valley West High School (Kansas): Won the javelin at the Shawnee Mission West Invitational with a throw of 218-6, taking first place in a field of 15 competitors.
Mason Hill, Gardner Edgerton High School (Kansas): Cleared a state-leading height of 16-6 in the pole vault to win at the Mid Season Meet, topping a field of seven vaulters.
