This young quartet of track stars had itself a solid showing at their respective league championships, putting themselves in a good situation ahead of regionals.

Pittsburg
Class of 2029
One of the top all-around athletes in the Class of 2029, Bugni had her usual performance at the SEK Varsity League Meet, sweeping the long, triple, and high jump, paired with a strong 400m run. In the horizontal jumps, Bugni leaped 19-2 (LJ) and 38-2.75 (TJ), two PBs that now rank her No. 6 and No. 5 statewide. In the high jump, she cleared 5-2 to complete the sweep. In her lone race on the track, she clocked 1:00.92, running sub-61 for the first time.
Dodge City
Class of 2029
In his first appearance at the WAC Track & Field Championship, the freshman notched a pair of PBs while winning two league titles. On the track, Pike clocked 10.64 (PB) and 21.52 (PB), finishing first and runner-up, respectively. He also cleared 6-0 for the fourth time this spring (PB of 6-4), winning the league title in that as well.
Hays
Class of 2028
For the first time in her career, Lewallen dipped under 58 seconds in the 400m, running 57.49 to win her first WAC title. Winning by close to a second and a half, Lewallen took down a field of experienced upperclassmen. She also finished runner-up in the 200m, running 25.73, a big PB of two-tenths of a second.
Osborne
Class of 2029
As he stepped up to the line of the Northern Plains League 300mH final, his PB was 42.02. As he crossed the finish line, Holloway had run 39.95, making him the eighth freshman to run sub-40. He also won the 110mH title in 15.55. He ranks No. 6 and No. 2 in both hurdle events in 1A.
