Throughout the 2025 Track and Field season, we have been compiling a list of athletes who you have voted the Athlete of the Week. Now that the season is coming to its close this weekend with the KSHSAA State Championships, we are also ready to crown an Athlete of the Year. Check out the nominees and their descriptions from the weeks they won below.

Portela picked up personal bests in the 100, 200, and long jump with marks of 12.02, 25.06, and 18-8.5 to win all three events at the Blue Valley-SM Northwest-SM South Triangular. Portela's long jump mark was a massive breakout performance as she closed out her freshman 2024 season with a 16-0 best.
Michaelis earned new personal bests in the 100m hurdles and triple jump en route to two of her three victories at theUlysses Max Heibert Invitationallast week. She ran 15.67, the fourth best time in Class 3, and cleared 37-2.25, the top triple jump mark in Class 3. She also won the high jump with a height of 5-0, but cleared 5-7 in 2024.
Hocker-Singh picked up a big personal best in 300 meter hurdles at theMike Wallace Olathe Invitational. Her time of 43.87 is the only performance in the state so far under 45 seconds and has the 2024 6A runner-up in the driver's seat already.
Stanfield has burst onto the scene with three javelin marks over 120 feet in her first season in Kansas. She upped the ante on Friday, chucking the javelin 141-6 at the Kansas Relays and finishing second.
Ginie won her 6th pole vault gold of the season in 7 tries so far, climbing up to 11-10 to win the Shawnee Mission North Relays. She leads 6A in the event now.
Kudzia threw down a 4:49.20 1600 at theUnited Kansas Conference, finishing just behind state-leader Ryin Miller. She's now second behind Miller in the 5A 1600, as well as the 800 in which she has run 2:11.20.
