Friday's Seaman Relays proved to be one of the hottest meets of the year, even two weeks post-Kansas Relays. While several of the State's best performers had banner days, one athlete stood out...once again.
On her home track at Topeka Seaman High School, Ryin Miller shattered the State record in the 1600m Run, running a US No. 10 4:41.47 mark and taking down Cailie Logue's 4:44.08 record from the 2017 Shawnee Mission South Relays.
*Note: This is the fastest time recorded in State history that was just a 1600m run. Kansas TF historian Carol Swenson has noted that both Molly Born and Cailie Logue have run faster for 1600 meters en route to a full mile.

Miller has had an historic junior season which started with her State record 5K this fall. After running 16:32.62 early on in the season, Miller went on to run under 18:00 in every race except the rain-soaked Nike Cross Nationals for which she qualified individually.
The Viking was already leading the State in all three distance events, but now she has pushed the envelope even further. Not to be outdone, she inched even closer to the State record in the 800 meters Saturday as well, running 2:09.28 and becoming only the third Kansan to ever break 2:10.
Now undefeated in all 12 races she has run this year, including wins in the 1600 and 3200 at Kansas Relays two weeks ago, Miller is on her way to an incredible finish to the 2025 season as she appears to be one of the top runners not just in the Sunflower State, but in the entire country.
