An Arizonan won Week 4 of the National Performer of the Week poll.

Queen Creek Casteel senior Dayton Carlson ran away with the honor, grabbing over 36-percent of the vote after winning the Chandler Invitational in a personal record time of 15:26.00.

Carlson made a massive year-over-year improvement from the previous season, cutting over 48 seconds from his junior season at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler. This past week, Carlson secured another win at the Western Equinox XC Festival.

So a big kudos goes out to the Arizona native on his win.

Now let's move on to Week 5 of the National Performer of the Week.

We'll have seven candidates in this week's poll. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.
