USATF U20 Day 3 Recap

The three day USATF Junior (U20) Championships wrapped up on Sunday, rounding out a weekend that already saw plenty of success for PA high schoolers and alums. Day 3 brought more impressive performances. We recap below, along with other meet links.

Ferguson Wins, Is Costa Rica-Bound!

Treyvon Ferguson continued his terrific freshman campaign with the University of Kansas. The Milton Hershey graduate captured the win in the men's triple jump with a best leap of 52-11, which came on his first attempt.

That jump proved to be enough, as Ferguson edged out high schooler Justin Forde by an inch for the win. Ferguson keeps up his hot streak with Sunday's win, which started a few weeks ago at the NCAA Championships, where he placed tenth in the country with a big PR of 53-1.

Ferguson qualifies for the Pan-American U20 Championships, set for next month in Costa Rica.

Hoey Narrowly Misses Pan-Ams Spot

Jonah Hoey closed out his junior season with a strong performance in the men's 800 meter final. The Bishop Shanahan middle distance runner went 1:51.72 for third in a very close race. That time is slightly off his best of 1:51.12.

Hoey just misses the top two, which would have qualified him for Pan-Ams.

Livingston Closes Out With PR

It was a strong end to the high school career of Jane Livingston. The Conestoga Valley graduate and soon-to-be Villanova Wildcat dropped a solid wind-legal PR of 13.57 to take fifth in the final of the women's 100 meter hurdles.

Livingston made the final after a 13.69 in the prelims to get the final spot. Perkiomen Valley graduate Christina Warren went 13.78 in that prelim, but was ninth, just missing out on the final

In the 400 meter hurdles, Skyla Wilson of the University of Pennsylvania took sixth in the final. The Susquehanna Community graduate ran a time of 59.12. The University of Pittsburgh's Sydni Townsend (Neumann Goretti '18) was disqualified in the final for a trail leg violation.
