Jeff Warren Wins Kansas Relays 800

Turns out it was a good weekend to leave Colorado. In more ways than one.

For many of the Colorado athletes who made the trip to Lawrence, KS, the experience was an unqualified success.

Consider this:

  • Jeff Warren of Mountain Vista wins the boys 800 in 1:56.06.
  • Samantha Thompson of Sierra wins the girls 800 in 2:13.37
  • Chase Cooper of Smoky Hill wins the boys pole vault in a personal best effort of 16-9.25.
  • Kelby Dias of Sierra finished with the best prelims time in the 110 hurdles (14.40, +0.5) and won the 300 hurdles (37.89)
  • Mark Sparks of Smoky Hill finished fourth in the shot put with a heave of 52-4.75.

SATURDAY UPDATE:

  • Kelby Dias wins the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.36 (-0.4).
  • Jeff Warren comes back in the 1600 to take second in 4:22.03.
