Cailie Logue Finishes Kansas State Championship With Distance Sweep

The only way this would have finished the way Cailie Logue wanted was is if she capped off her high school career with an otherwise legendary performance.

And yet, that's exactly what the Girard (KS) High senior and Iowa State University signee did at the Kansas State High School Athletic Association's Track and Field Championships this weekend, winning the 800m, 1600m and 3200m over two days at Wichita State University.

It was her fourth straight win in the 3200m and she won by nearly a lap over second-place Renee Trout of Independence.

Logue, who owns a US No. 3 time in the 1600m and US No. 7 in the 3200m, went 2:12.27 in the 800, 5:04.31 at 1600 and 10:28.80 in the 3200 -- and she added a 2:13 split on her team's fourth-place 4x800 relay team -- to finish with nine individual championships over her four years at Girard.

For good measure, Logue also added two state cross country championships, making it 11 state titles overall.
