Cailie Logue (Girard) Competes at Olympic Trials, Special Invitational!



Cailie Logue, who will be a senior this year at Girard HS, finished fifth in the Girls' Invitational 1-Mile Run held along with this years U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials in Eugene, Ore., Cailie, ran on  July 2. Her time of 4:49.08 was two seconds slower than her season best of 4:46.89 which she ran  at the St. Louis Festival of Miles.

Finishing ahead of Cailie were Annie Hill (Glacier, Kalispell, MT, SO), who has Milesplits fastest time for the 1-Mile in the nation for 2016 (4:41.52 @ Brooks PR Invitational). Hill clocked a time of 4:44.16 and was followed across the line by Texas 6A State 1600m champion Julia Heymach (Houston Lamar, Manvel, TX, JR), who moved ahead of Logue on the 2016 national list in 4:45.14, Washington Class 2-3-4A State 800 and 1600m champion Jordan Oakes (Holy Names Academy, Seattle, WA, JR) in 4:47.96 and 3-time North Carolina 4A State champion (800, 1600 and 3200m) Nevada Moreno (Leesville Road, NC, JR) in 4:48.89.
