Hannah Long 16:51! MR & Team Title- 2014 MSSU Stampede

Interview with Eureka High School (Eureka, MO) senior Hannah Long after her amazing 16:51 5k at the 2014 Missouri Southern Stampede cross country meet in Joplin, Missouri Saturday, September 20. Long's time was only slower than one runner in the college races. University of Arkansas All-American Dominique Scott won the University 5k in 16:32. Long's time was faster than several other NCAA Division I All-Americans in the women's university race, which was two hours earlier and about 10 degrees cooler than the high school varsity girls race. The races were run on the Missouri Southern State University's cross country course which is the school's campus. It's deceptively hilly with several long inclines and features many u-turns and 90-degree turns that slows runners momentum. Long won the varsity girls race by a minute and 21 seconds and led the Eureka Wildcats to the team title, scoring 69 points and winning by 26 points. http://www.trxctiming.com/stampede/Results/2014/2014_results_girls_varsity.htm
