It's interesting how the boys 1600M heats shook out. Of the top thirteen places overall, seven came from heat two.

Half off the top twenty came out of heat two and three came from heat one, the "slowest" heat.

Heat three, the "fast" heat, played out like a chess game with Thor finally taking the initiative in lap three. White and Bartlesmeyer both showed terrific heart in the last lap. Congrats to Drew for a great race.

It was fairly stunning how quickly Wilfong fell off the pace, although seeing the shenanigans he pulled during the race it was probably karma. He should have been DQ'd for the elbow slaps to Guinn at the start of lap 3.

Yeah, I watched the race again on Flotrack after I heard there was some "unsportsmanlike" conduct on Wilfong's part. In addition to messing with Guinn, he was holding the pack back by holding out his arms multiple times. Really weird race overall...

I was pleased to see that had my son ran the Eliete mile that he would have gotten the same 6th place....but hey.....11th in the state up and until that date, I will take it. Aazing how you can have a great run one day and then just a few seconds off the next. But over all.....some great runners heading into college this year.
