Cameron Cooper Anchors Motor City's SMR Meet Record Win With 1:47.79 Split

Motor City Track Club set a new meet record in the boys Sprint Medley Relay at New Balance Nationals Outdoor on Saturday in Greensboro, North Carolina, grabbing a national title in 3:20.25.

LSU bound mid-distance star Cameron Cooper split a remarkable 1:47.79 on the anchor -- which would easily be a new US No. 1 in the 800m --  helping the club to meet history and just shy of the national record of 3:19.58. It was Cooper's first 800m split under 1:50 this season.

On Sunday, Cooper will try to double in the open 800m hoping to recreate magic again.
