Kansas Athletes Get Rolling at the Great Southwest, Day1

Even though day 1 is a shorter abbreviated day the contingent of Kansas HS athletes got rolling and won a total of 5 medals with the boys scoring 12 team points. Saturdays action starts approx 11:30 central

Sarah Bond a recent grad of Mission Valley HS got things started by just missing the podium in the Heptathlon finishing in 9th place scoring 3155 points just a little under 500 from making the stand. Sarah did set PR's in the HJ at 4'7" and by winning the Javelin portion of the event threw 126'5" which equaled her PR.

First to reach the Podium was Aiden Camp of Andale who finished 4th, in the rarely contested in Kansas, Hammer throw. Aiden threw 171'4" just off his PR of 174'
